Founder & CEO
Joe Whitbread started his career in broadcast journalism, and took his first gig as an on-air personality in Grande Prairie shortly after graduating from SAIT. Joe moved through the radio industry as a producer, and sales person, before transitioning to social media when it became apparent this was where businesses would have to be, to be seen. As a professional emcee, PA announcer, and voiceover artist, he’s hosted thousands of events in his 25+ year career in the public.
Joe’s a Dad, artist, Flames fan, and can most often be found on summer days swinging a club on the golf course.

With a degree in Psychology focused on motivation and personality, and a minor in Sociology from the University of Calgary, Jo Phillips loves to watch how people interact both on social media, and in the business world, and convert it to opportunity. Known for big ideas, quick creative thinking and an ability to identify the pain and fix it, Jo combines her knowledge of people, business, and entrepreneurship with effective, interesting social solutions. Jo’s a Mom, and Bon Jovi super-fan, and always has at least one business book on the go.

Content Division Director
Originally from Southampton, Ontario, just north of Toronto, Ali loves living in Blackfalds, Alberta with her dog, Charlie and sassy cat, Chloe. She came to Central Alberta in 2012 to be closer to her brother. She says being an Auntie is one of life’s greatest pleasures as Auntie’s get to say, “yes”.
Ali has a background in psychology and sociology as well as an extensive knowledge of pop culture from the 80’s. For 13 years she was an on-air radio host including a short stint as a news anchor, which was where she first started to grasp and explore the significance of social media. She joined the Jo(e) team after her mind was blown during a crash course. She’s now the Content Division Director and provides training, public speaking and manages several channels for Jo(e) clients. You can find Ali on most social channels though she freely admits her first love will always be Facebook.
With a background in broadcasting, sales and marketing, Mike is a big part of the Jo(e) Social Media and Jo(e) Youth Creative team. He was added to the team in the Spring of 2020. Mike manages several Facebook and Twitter accounts on behalf of clients, and also provides LinkedIn training and Google consultations with customers.
Mike is a huge fan of the Montreal Canadiens, the Medicine Hat Tigers and the Seattle Seahawks. He’s a voracious reader and great father dad and a seeker of knowledge. Mike is also an amateur cooking enthusiast with a number of delicious dishes he and his daughter love to create!
Morgan Whitbread was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta and currently resides in Red Deer. She graduated from the Media Studies and Professional Communications program at Red Deer College in 2020. Morgan’s love for Instagram and a desire to work in a growing digital industry is what brought her to Jo(e) Social Media. She’s part of our amazing training team, including expertise in Instagram influencing and also manages multiple accounts for Jo(e) clients.
Although Morgan never played hockey, she grew up at the rink and loves the sport. She is now pursuing her love of the game, by working as the Promotions Coordinator for the Red Deer Rebels and Hockey Canada’s World Junior Hockey Championships.

Darlene Glover moved to Red Deer from Saskatoon in 2006. Darlene was raised by Entrepreneurial parents and owned her own business for 16 years. Jo and Darlene had known each other for over a decade when Jo offered her a position and Jo(e) Social Media became a business of 3. Darlene is a Mom and grew up the oldest of 4 children, until recently when she met an older half sister and half brother.

Andrea grew up in Didsbury, and is now living in Innisfail, AB with her two sons. Andrea has a long background and experience in book keeping. She started working for Jo and Joe on a promo team, because it was the perfect opportunity to step out of her comfort-zone and meet new people. Andrea only buys fruit in multiples of 3, and she cries when she laughs.

Ayesha holds a Bachelor of Business and a Masters in Journalism. She started out in corporate communications in Vancouver before switching to news. She has worked for the BBC in London, England, and CBC News in Vancouver and Calgary. She now lives in Carstairs and does social media management from the comfort of her farm, mostly in PJs. Don’t tell anybody that last part.
Sarah is originally from Sherwood Park, and now calls Silver Valley, AB home. Sarah runs a cattle ranch with her husband, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law. Sarah was originally interested in journalism, until she fell in love with farming. Sarah became a member of the Jo(e) team when we expanded into Northern B.C. Sarah loves dinosaurs and has a Certificate in Paleobiology from the U of A.

With a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts with a minor in Sociology and a diploma in Visual Arts from Red Deer College, Alexandria has many years experience within the arts, including art exhibitions, curating, volunteering at art sales and auctions. In addition, she has vast experience in the customer service industry.
Alexandria became a part of the team after impressively completing the Jo(e) Social Media practicum program in 2019, managing multiple platforms.
She’s also a traditional and digital illustrator and specializes in media and professional communications on behalf of Jo(e) clients.
Caden was a successful graduate of the Jo(e) Social Media practicum program and advanced with flying colours in 2019. He’s also a recent graduate of the Business program at Ambrose University. Caden’s impressive communication skills and creative content always earn impressive engagement and strong ROI on the channels he is in charge of.
He’s the social media manager for multiple Facebook and LinkedIn pages on behalf of Jo(e) clients.
